Do you know W.I.L.D?

I was first introduced to the Women of Leadership at DIRECTV in March of this year. I received an email like everyone else, and since I was trekking to Burbank to attend the Commercial All Hands Meeting I thought that I better do some research in case I meet anyone from or am asked about What "Wild" is. To say that I was impressed is an understatement. Allow me to introduce you to W.I.L.D!

Their mission is self evident:

"Supporting and uplifting women at all stages of their careers; encouraging opportunities and a vision for what is WILDLY possible!"

The W.I.L.D. group has a Vision that encompasses four principal goals:
  • Supporting women to achieve their full potential in their professional and personal lives
  • Supporting active involvement in professional growth
  • Raising funds and using that philanthropy to better the lives of women in our communities
  • supporting and hosting connected conversations to help aid Women to find success
W.I.L.D. has a group on @Workplace. They also have a monthly digital newsletter called The Lady Chronicles where they share news, articles, self help tips, conversations with industry leaders and most importantly they celebrate the achievements of their members! They host virtual and in-person meetings and are always communicating on @Workplace.  Click here to connect with WILD on Workplace.

Every six months W.I.L.D. solicits donations in order to use those funds to help women and families in their local communities.  In conjunction with the DIRECTV for Business Fall AHM in El Segundo, they are continuing their support of the Jenesse Center in Los Angeles. All funds donated will go DIRECTLY to the organization in an effort to help furnish and support an apartment complex based in Southern California. This complex helps domestic violence victims the opportunity regroup and get their lives together in a space that is clean, nurturing, supported, and SAFE.

I do not support any organization or cause without doing my research. I work too hard for my paycheck to give the money away to causes that are not genuine. I humbly ask you to simply do 10-minutes of research on the Jenesse Center, and I think you will see the same need to show support that I do.  Like dozens of businesses and thousands of other individuals, I donated.

DIRECTV has also stepped up in a BIG WAY by matching all employee donations. It is an honor to work for a company that believes in giving back.

Finally, I would like to say this. I originally didn't read the emails about W.I.L.D. because I am not part of the group. I kept on scrolling. Then I heard about W.I.L.D. on a Teams call in passing, and this time I went back and did my research.  I think this group is important. I think what they have to say and what they stand for is important. You DON'T have to be a member of W.I.L.D to donate and help support their causes. You don't need to be a woman to donate. You only need to be an employee of DIRECTV.

If you are interested in making a Tax Deductible, company matched donation to W.I.L.D. please click the link below. DIRECTV even allows a scheduled deduction from your next paycheck.

It is my honor to support this group and their mission. It was a privilege to donate to the cause. Who knows, I might even pop into their meeting on the 24th in El Segundo to say hello, and "Thank you" for all that you do...
