End of the Year - Happy Holidays!
I am back in St Louis this week for the final push right up until the last minute for the EOY Moratorium. Lots of work to do, and not a lot of time to do it. I am so happy to be heading home today and won't hit the road again until January 8th, 2024.
Monday night I was able to watch one of the best #MNFonDIRECTV games in a long while witnessing my beloved #Seahawks pull out a last minute victory over the #Eagles with almost no time remaining. A big thanks to the Hotel St Louis for hosting me for a few nights. I just love this hotel. The hotel St Louis is a DIRECTV Hotel, and each room has a full compliment of DIRECTV channels for your viewing pleasure.
As Christmas approaches I am stopping to take stock in my year, my accomplishments, my failures, what I have learned and how I can apply what I have learned to better myself and my DIRECTV team in 2024. Next year will see unprecedented change in our company and our industry as a whole. Streaming platforms are going to evolve and not all players will be on the field by the end of next year. It's both exciting and scary at the same time. I believe that DIRECTV is strategically placed to weather any upcoming economic downturns , possible changes in the DBS landscape, and we are very well positioned to lead the industry when it comes to ATSC 3.0 integration.
I am thankful for my team.
I am thankful for my management team and the leadership they provide.
I am thankful that my voice is heard at my workplace, and that I can make a difference for the better when I speak up.
I am thankful for the other management teams at DIRECTV and the support they lend me so I can continue to learn and grow professionally.
I am thankful for the opportunity to help others in my industry and share the knowledge that I have.
I don't have many friends, but I am thankful for the few that are out there and the hundreds of colleagues whom I deeply respect and and honored to work with.
I am thankful that my cup overflows from time to time and this allows me to donate my time and money to help others in my community.
I am thankful for my family.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and best wishes from the Mac family.
John...
