Would you like an Autograph?

 I have autographed dozens of these "Calling cards" and handed to hotel/bar managers across our great country over the last couple of years. 

As an #Engineer I am not usually customer facing so I don't really have a need for a business card. I don't let that stop me from offering to help our customers though. Honestly, I was just being polite by writing these up. Seemed to be a nice thing to do. Offer our customers an opportunity to skip the "888" option and ask simple questions if they ever had any. 

IMAGINE MY SURPRISE a couple of weeks ago when people actually started calling me! This was because I had added a "Favorite" channel to their TVs helping them to easily access #TNFonDIRECTV, but I had programmed #9526. We are now on #9550. I honestly had no idea that people kept these. I thought for sure these would end up in the "Round File". 

Always happy to help. These calling cards were ALWAYS delivered with a handshake and a promise to try to help help if they ever called.

I now have business cards and no longer use bar napkins to leave my contact information.  Thanks to the Business team for the cards,

Welcome to Spring! Showers, showers everywhere with tornados and some lightning to boot! So, what do you for DIRECTV anyway?

  Over the last seven years or so the most common question I get as I travel around this great country of ours is “What do you do for DIRECTV anyway?” For those interested, this week’s column is dedicated to my “Day Job”. Enjoy… Greetings from St. Louis! It's Sunday morning and my Battlehawks won a nail biter last night against the Arlington Renegades.  It was an amazing game and I was one of the 40,315 in attendance. Life is good.  Here is this weeks update. I decided to take a week to dedicate a column to my Field Engineering team. I am sure the optics might lead one to believe that I travel around the country staying in hotels, meeting with the hotel and bar staff and promoting DIRECTV.   Today marks the one year anniversary of my first column on Blogspot. It's a special day for me because When I started this blog I had no idea it would take off the way it did, or that I would still be posting today. Unfortunately, this is also the last weekly blog post I will be submitting to Blogspot. Before I explain why I am sunsetting the blog, let's go back and look at the evolution of how the blog came to be. HOW IT ALL STARTED I am a career traveler for DIRECTV . 48 weeks a year, 3-4 nights a week. I was traveling before the Covid-19 pandemic, I traveled through the pandemic, and in early 2022 as America was "Re-opening" I noticed that most of the hotel, restaurant and Bar staff that I had come to know pre-pandemic were no longer employed at my favorite establishments.
