2023 NFL Season - Week 8

This week I was blessed to end up in Good ol' St. Louis. My "goto" hotel here is the Hotel St. Louis Downtown. This hotel is walking distance from basically anything a corporate traveler might need or a tourist might want. I like to walk to the St Louis Ballpark Village for dinner and some epic Monday Night Sports. I tried to have dinner at Katie's Pizza and Pasta, but couldn't get in as the place was packed. What's great about Katie's is that you can site outside on their patio to enjoy dinner and also see the 150" outdoor screen in the common area. I ended up back at my local favorite Salt and Smoke for some epic barbecued brisket!  

I was able to catch Game-6 of the NLCS and game-7 of the ALCS MLB playoffs at S&S.  Both games were great, and my hat's off to the #TexasRANGERS for holding on in this series.  Up 3-0, they suffered three losses (Controversial Game-6) to come back last night and finish on top.

I went back to the Hotel St. Louis to watch #MNFonDIRECTV and watch another Superbowl contender loose (49ers to the Vikings) in what I thought would be a blowout in the other direction.  

I want to give a shout out to my new friend John from Lake Charles, LA.  Had a great convo with you at S&S.  Wonderful to meet you and talk property and life in general. Good luck in your future endeavors!

Not a lot of #DIRECTVforBUSINESS in the village that I saw, and I wonder how these establishments handle the demand for #TNF without subscribing to a platform that offers #TNFonPRIME. 
Oh, the questions I ponder in my head...

Short week for me as I was able to travel home early and watch Thursday night football from my home using my Gemini set top box with the kids. Welcome to Spring! Showers, showers everywhere with tornados and some lightning to boot! So, what do you for DIRECTV anyway?

  Over the last seven years or so the most common question I get as I travel around this great country of ours is “What do you do for DIRECTV anyway?” For those interested, this week’s column is dedicated to my “Day Job”. Enjoy… Greetings from St. Louis! It's Sunday morning and my Battlehawks won a nail biter last night against the Arlington Renegades.  It was an amazing game and I was one of the 40,315 in attendance. Life is good.  Here is this weeks update. I decided to take a week to dedicate a column to my Field Engineering team. I am sure the optics might lead one to believe that I travel around the country staying in hotels, meeting with the hotel and bar staff and promoting DIRECTV.   Today marks the one year anniversary of my first column on Blogspot. It's a special day for me because When I started this blog I had no idea it would take off the way it did, or that I would still be posting today. Unfortunately, this is also the last weekly blog post I will be submitting to Blogspot. Before I explain why I am sunsetting the blog, let's go back and look at the evolution of how the blog came to be. HOW IT ALL STARTED I am a career traveler for DIRECTV . 48 weeks a year, 3-4 nights a week. I was traveling before the Covid-19 pandemic, I traveled through the pandemic, and in early 2022 as America was "Re-opening" I noticed that most of the hotel, restaurant and Bar staff that I had come to know pre-pandemic were no longer employed at my favorite establishments.
