2023 NFL Season - Week 7

 I LOVE KENTUCKY! I spent Monday night in Louisville on 4th street live watching #MNFonDIRECTV. Thousands of people in town for the HNA Show so I met lots of new landscape professionals who share my love for the NFL. I had some BBQ from Guy Fieri's Smokehouse, tacos at Gordon Biersch and finished up the evening at the Hyatt Regency watching the Cowboys squeak out a win over the Chargers in the final moments of the game! The Hyatt is a #DIRECTV property and I usually don't venture out at night, but they don't have many teles and the hotel was packed with customers. 4th Street Live had tons of opportunities to see the games.  It was another great night.

On Tuesday I was able to enjoy one of the best steaks in Kentucky at Repeal inside Hotel Distil. If you are ever in Louisville, you have GOT to have a steak at this amazing establishment.

Wednesday night I was in Lexington and saw #MLBonDIRECTV playoffs Game #3 between the Rangers and the Astros at the Marriott City Center which is another great #DIRECTV property. Lots of teles here so I was able to "double dip" and also watch the #WNBAonDIRECTV and see the Las Vegas Aces win the WNBA title! Thursday night I was invited to a private party at LexLive across the street from the Hyatt Regency where I was staying. Hyatt is hosting the #KYTRAUMA2023 show and I met some attendees at the hotel at lunch who were very gracious with an invitation. LexLive is a #DIRECTV property so I went over after work and before they opened to say hello and drop off some channel guides to the staff. I also helped them program their TVs with QuickTune and showed them how to use #ScoreGuide which I didn't even know about until this week.  What a great option.  LexLive is AMAZING!!! They have 200" screens and I have decided that I need one of these at my house.


Friday night I ended up at the Hotel Saint Louis and was able to watch #MLBonDIRECTV Game 5 of the ALCS and WOW, what a game! The Rangers and the Astros are in an EPIC battle! So crazy! Of course, the Hotel St Louis is a #DIRECTVforBUSINESS property, and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else...

Another great week in the books. I am so happy to be a product ambassador for #DIRECTV. Looks like I will be in Central Illinois next week.  See you then...

Welcome to Spring! Showers, showers everywhere with tornados and some lightning to boot! So, what do you for DIRECTV anyway?

  Over the last seven years or so the most common question I get as I travel around this great country of ours is “What do you do for DIRECTV anyway?” For those interested, this week’s column is dedicated to my “Day Job”. Enjoy… Greetings from St. Louis! It's Sunday morning and my Battlehawks won a nail biter last night against the Arlington Renegades.  It was an amazing game and I was one of the 40,315 in attendance. Life is good.  Here is this weeks update. I decided to take a week to dedicate a column to my Field Engineering team. I am sure the optics might lead one to believe that I travel around the country staying in hotels, meeting with the hotel and bar staff and promoting DIRECTV.   Today marks the one year anniversary of my first column on Blogspot. It's a special day for me because When I started this blog I had no idea it would take off the way it did, or that I would still be posting today. Unfortunately, this is also the last weekly blog post I will be submitting to Blogspot. Before I explain why I am sunsetting the blog, let's go back and look at the evolution of how the blog came to be. HOW IT ALL STARTED I am a career traveler for DIRECTV . 48 weeks a year, 3-4 nights a week. I was traveling before the Covid-19 pandemic, I traveled through the pandemic, and in early 2022 as America was "Re-opening" I noticed that most of the hotel, restaurant and Bar staff that I had come to know pre-pandemic were no longer employed at my favorite establishments.
